And now for a few detail shots from the San Diego Women’s Club reception…

Mahalia and Channing had a beautiful wedding ceremony at Centennial Park in Coronado. Perfect views of downtown San Diego, gorgeous weather, and an energetic wedding party. Ashlynn Marie Photography was sweet enough to provide a few photos from the day. Aren’t the flower girls adorable?!?!? Congratulations to Mahalia and Channing (and their precious daughter/aka flower girl).

Check out this beautiful couple photographed by Finest City Photography. They are getting married at the Casa De Prado in July– can’t wait!
And now for the details… my favorite part! Amy and John really put a lot of thought into their wedding day. They wanted to make sure that their guests were taken care of, and that the fun never ended! How can you go wrong with a self-serve candy station, photobooth, and cupcake tower? They also provided a late night snack– mini sliders and french fry cones! Such a great day. Guests walked away with full bellies and fun photo keepsakes.
Congratulations to Amy and John!

Delicious hors d’oeuvres, compliments of Culinary Concepts

Perfect size cake for the couple to cut, especially when there is a self-serve candy station and cupcake tower for the guests!

Huge thanks to 8Twenty8 Studios.
Here are a few shots of the bride, groom, and wedding party. What a great looking group! Not to mention, they wore out the entire dance floor.
Didn’t they have an amazing view of the city?
Thank you Tim from 8Twenty8 Studios.
I had the pleasure of working with some great vendors on this wedding. It was a perfect day on Coronado Island, and the wedding was gorgeous. 8Twenty8 Studios was kind enough to pass along some of my favorite photos from the wedding to post on the blog. Here is the first round– details!
Amy’s Hair was amazing… I loved all the curls. Gorgeous!

Amy and John were given a wonderful gift from John’s mother, the gift of a WEDDING COORDINATOR! {talk about love…}. They are adorable and truly caring individuals. The first time I met Amy she instantly warmed my heart with her kindness, and made me feel like we had been friends for years. I can’t wait for their wedding– it’s going to be beautiful {and SUPER FUN}. I wanted to share a few photos from their engagement courtesy of 8twenty8 Studios. More details on this Coronado wedding coming soon…
Thank you Tim from 8twenty8 Studios for providing the photos.
If you haven’t been on TheKnot.com just yet, you may want to check it out. This is a HUGE resource for couples that are looking for inspiration/ideas/vendors/etc. You name it, they have it covered. It is the perfect online tool to get your plans in the right direction. TheKnot.com featured a great article about 2010 wedding trends. I thought I would share this with you… I definitely see a lot of these trends sneaking into my weddings for 2010. Please check it out HERE.
When guests arrive to the wedding reception, most assume there will be a three-tier cake elegantly displayed in the room. Lately, more couples are breaking tradition and coming up with alternative options for their sweet ending {I would choose to serve both!!} Check out these options:
Mini Donuts: Mini donuts are showing up at weddings, corporate events, birthdays, and private parties. The idea of having fresh, warm donuts made onsite at the end of an evening just brings a smile to my face. It is interactive, fun, and most of all… *DELICIOUS*. Here are two local companies that are doing great things with fried dough {Dolce Donuts and Party Donuts}.
Pies: An assortment of pies is a great way to have “cake” without actually having cake. You can create a display of pies for your guests to admire. This provides something sweet, something to cut, and a beautiful display. Julian is well-known for their apple pies (my fav), and here is a place to order them. {Another option: cheesecake!}
Bundt Cakes: Surprisingly enough, bundt cakes are making there way into wedding receptions– and one company my be the reason for this. Nothing Bundt Cakes, originally established in Las Vegas, has made its way to sunny San Diego. Between bundtlets and tiered bundts, there is something for everyone. Getting creative and baking something tasty pays off!!! And look how adorable they are!
Cupcakes: How can you resist something so small, so tasty, and so perfect! Cupcakes are a great way to give your guests their own “personal” cake. San Diego has several options for the bride and groom. Here are just a few places– Cupcakes Squared, Cups, Babycakes.
Assorted Mini Desserts: There are so many options when it comes to “shrinking” your desserts. My Sweet and Saucy is baking individual lollipop cakes that are so cute you won’t want to eat them. Check out their blog for other great ideas– true inspiration that will make you drool. Culinary Concepts offers dessert shots to give you bite-size goodness. And Eccentric International Chefs is creating an assortment of mini delights. There is an abundance of talented pastry chefs that can create a special dessert for your wedding guests– you just have to ask!
Ice Cream: Whether it’s ice cream bars or sundae stations, this cold treat is a great alternative for those non-cake loving couples {yes, there are people out there who do not care for cake–shock!}. Crunchtime and Ben&Jerry’s both offer ice cream sundae catering services. YUM! If you want something fruity and refreshing, California Quivers may be the perfect option. Ask your caterer what they can do!!
What do yo plan on serving your guests on your wedding day? Cake, pie, ice cream… as long as it is something you love, you can’t go wrong!
