Amy and John, part three

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

And now for the details… my favorite part! Amy and John really put a lot of thought into their wedding day.  They wanted to make sure that their guests were taken care of, and that the fun never ended! How can you go wrong with a self-serve candy station, photobooth, and cupcake tower? They also provided a late night snack– mini sliders and french fry cones! Such a great day. Guests walked away with full bellies and fun photo keepsakes.

Congratulations to Amy and John!

What a perfect shot!

Delicious hors d’oeuvres, compliments of Culinary Concepts

Perfect size cake for the couple to cut, especially when there is a self-serve candy station and cupcake tower for the guests!

Huge thanks to 8Twenty8 Studios.

I had the pleasure of working with some great vendors on this wedding. It was a perfect day on Coronado Island, and the wedding was gorgeous.  8Twenty8 Studios was kind enough to pass along some of my favorite photos from the wedding to post on the blog. Here is the first round– details!

I have been working with the lovely Karrie Pyke of Karrie Pyke Designs and can I just say… *love*.  She did an amazing job, and I can’t thank her enough.  She took all my *special* notes and transformed them into this… Here is my new logo!!! Did I mention that she created a monogram for me as well?!?!?!  Tell me what you think!

Jenna and Michael, part two

Friday, November 20th, 2009

Jenna and Michael were married on the sandy shores of La Jolla on October 11, 2009.  Jenna’s father, Frank, *built* the couple a bamboo arch for their ceremony.  Since Jenna’s favorite color is teal, it was an obvious choice to incorporate that into her wedding color palette. She added hints of vibrant orange to give her beach wedding a punch of color.  The reception was held at La Jolla Shores Hotel in the Acapulco Room. Stephanie Reynard, catering manager, worked with Jenna and Michael on the Spanish-style menu.  DIY GALORE!  Jenna is quite the “crafter” and “projecteer”.  She made all the jewelry for the bridemaids (and even the flower girl).  She also made a beautiful pearl necklace for herself.  Jenna crafted all the paper products: invitations, menus, programs, escort cards, and labels/notes.  Her mother helped her sew all the table runners while Jenna worked on her escort card board.  Jenna hand-made soaps to give to her guests as a wedding favor.  Michael also participated in the DIY projects.  He made the “wishing well” for guests to put their thoughts and notes. It was wonderful working with Jenna and Michael, and participating in the *crafting* and *creativity*. Thank you to all the amazing vendors:  Venue- La Jolla Shores Hotel, Stephanie Reynard; Photographer- Creative Photography, Stephanie Sundell; DJ- Tiernan Tunes, Michael Tiernan; and Florist- Johnny Nguyen.

Paloma’s Nest Modern Heirloom

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Paloma’s Nest, created by Caroline Colom Vasquez, is all about crafting modern heirloom pieces.  In 2008 Caroline designed and debuted the “Ring Bearer Bowl”.  These delicate pieces are a wonderful twist on the “pillow” for a wedding ceremony.  It is also a great keepsake to pass down through your family for years to come. You can find these wonderful pieces on Etsy, a great resource for all things handmade.  Here are a few of the designs that were handcrafted by Caroline:

Shiloh and Michael, part two

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

Shiloh and Michael had a fun, outdoor wedding at San Dieguito Park in Del Mar.  Shiloh used different hues of blue for her wedding party, and tied it all together with shades of orange and pink (in her florals). Awesome pop of color!!  The picnic benches were perfect for ceremony seating as well as dinner tables. The guests were able to enjoy street tacos with homemade tortillas from Tacos El Panson, and bavarian stuffed cupcakes topped with a chocolate ganache (YUM!!) from International Eccentric Chefs.  Craig Tiscareno Photography captured some great shots throughout the day (and of course was wonderful to work with).  Shiloh and Michael are blessed to have so many musically talented friends.  They had a guitarist and vocalist for their ceremony, a jazz band for their cocktail hour, and a DJ for their reception.  WOWZZZA! Loved this wedding!  Aren’t the flower girls stinking cute!?!?!
